Aux 2: Nommu Bar and Resto

We went to Nommu Bar and Resto for our 15th month together and it was a great night, I must say. This isn't the first time I've been to this place because my former boss dragged us here after work and had us feast on wonderful Japanese food and beer. I've been waiting so long to bring my beau here and finally we were able to schedule it. We actually went there hours after he came back home from La Union.

It's a fairly small place but the ambiance makes you feel relaxed. It's fully air-conditioned and even their tables outside is well ventilated, I thought it was just really cold when we transferred outside when we decided to drink beer. But no, there are actually ceiling fans which kept me cold on a chill night.

It was exactly as I remember it, It's been ages since I last came to this place. I'm not entirely sure what was the changes done but I'm sure as hell I failed to notice it. So let's begin my review, at first the staff is really accommodating they were able to assist us the moment we stepped foot inside their restaurant. We were given the menu right away, and food didn't take that long as well. I guess out waiting time is just around 5-7 minutes and it's done right there.

We ordered their Beef Teppanyaki (P250) which is good for two already as per their waiter. We were supposed to pick two dishes but since it seems like a lot to handle, so we decided to just go with one dish and if we're able to finish it then we order another one. Lo and behold, we even took some of it home. The beef is so tender and the veggies are so tasty, I can sense some buttery goodness going on while I was chewing on it. When it came to our table, it really looks appetizing and we couldn't wait to dig in since it landed.

Here's their Chahan (P190) or commonly known as fried rice, whenever I go to a Japanese restaurant I always try their Chahan. Nommu's fried rice is good for 3-4 people and we had to bring some to my mom as well. I thought it's enough for us because we might order another dish but no, It's more than enough for us really. The fried rice tastes so good, I mean I love fried rice but this is divine. I'm not entirely sure how authentic chahan tastes like but I have yet to try one some time in the future.

After eating, we ordered some beer since it's been a while since we drank together. Their beer costs P45 each bottle and it's a shame that we wasn't able to go there during their Happy hour. I would really love to try their Buy 1 Get 1 Margarita promo and the other drinks as well. We arrived at Nommu at past 10 pm already so we just went with beer.  We ordered their Jurassic Maki (P250) for my mom and she really liked it, I thought it was the usual 4 piece sushi but I was surprised it actually has 8 pieces inside, I have yet to try their Sisig Sushi Roll next time. Sorry no sushi photos.

VERDICT

FOOD & DRINKS

AMBIANCE
VALUE
JOHNNY'S RATING

I love going to this place, I should bring my mom here for drinks some time. The food is great, they have a wide selection of drinks, they have promos daily and it's really affordable too. Compared to other Japanese restaurants, their price is a lot cheaper. The customer service is good as well. I will come back, hopefully with more drinks on hand.
